TRYP Wellington by Outline Design

The TRYP by Wyndham Hotel in Wellington showcases an impressive design that is sure to captivate guests with its modern and sophisticated style. Collaborating with Safari Group since 2020, the Outline Design team was entrusted with the task of creating a dynamic and luxurious atmosphere, inspired by the Art Deco era and the sleek lines of Chicago Style architecture.

Stepping into the lobby, guests are immediately struck by a stunning colour palette of gold, navy, and deep brown, which establishes an elegant and welcoming ambience. The use of natural materials like wood and brass adds warmth and comfort, while large windows flood the space with natural light, creating an airy and bright atmosphere.

In the guest rooms, our goal was to provide a serene and relaxing retreat. Staying true to the essence of Chicago Style architecture and art deco, the hard finishes feature a palette of black, white, and metallic tones. Layered with rich colours and fabrics in the soft furnishings, the rooms become dynamic and inviting. Carefully selected bedding and linens ensure maximum comfort and soft lighting contributes to a soothing atmosphere.

Throughout the hotel, we incorporated graphics, geometric designs, and patterns that pay homage to the “gangster elements” of the design, lending a unique and thrilling touch. These elements enhance the overall user experience, creating lasting memories that will beckon guests back to TRYP Wellington.

Our design choices included floor tiles in the foyers, carpet tiles in the hallways and meeting rooms, and pendant glass lighting, all inspired by the bold geometric shapes and luxurious materials of the art deco style.

We transformed the hotel’s existing cavity lift into a striking feature by enveloping it with kaynemaile—a sparkling and glittering material that serves as a captivating focal point in the heart of the hotel.

Overall, our interior design work for the new TRYP by Wyndham Hotel in Wellington has been a resounding success. We have crafted a luxurious and inviting space that reflects the city’s unique character, and we are confident that guests will adore their stay in this exquisite hotel.
