The master plan focused on the recreation needs of the District over the next ten years, identifying where there were gaps in the current green spaces and facilities provided. The master plan was separated into four parts as follows:
Part One : What’s there now
This section primarily focused upon; what green spaces and facilities are currently provided in the district, what are the current issues, i.e. where growth and trends are, and where are the current gaps in green space and facilities provision, if any.
Part Two : Where to develop in the future?
This section focused on, if development were to occur as identified in part one, where would it occur. A number of sites have been assessed against different criteria to evaluate their suitability. One site is recommended for further investigation.
Part Three : What to develop in the future?
This section focused on the facilities that should be given priority in the future. Six different facilities have been chosen for investigation and are scored against assessment criteria to determine which facilities are most needed and will provide for the greatest number of district residents.
Part Four: Conclusions
The findings of parts two and three were combined to recommend some preferred locations with corresponding concept designs showing possible configurations of different recreation facilities.
