Oamaru Stone’s rich honey tones make it a perfect choice for creating beautiful, inviting interiors in both homes and commercial spaces. Its natural warmth brings a cosy feel – especially appreciated during the colder months.
But how can stone feel warm?
That’s the unique charm of Oamaru Stone. Its soft, slightly porous surface holds onto heat and allows the material to breathe. This helps regulate indoor temperature and humidity, making spaces more comfortable and healthier – particularly in winter when homes are often closed up to keep heat in.
Designing with Stone Indoors
While Oamaru Stone is well-known for grand facades and sharp modern exteriors, we’re seeing some of the most exciting uses inside. Its distinctive texture, natural warmth, and ability to be custom-shaped make it ideal for interior walls in any space – residential or commercial.
Split and bolstered veneer, CNC-shaped reliefs, and fair-faced finishes all showcase its versatility. Plus, Oamaru Stone conducts and retains heat better than concrete or timber, helping to maintain a steady, comfortable indoor climate.
A Healthier, Stylish Interior
Naturally resistant to mould and bacteria, Oamaru Stone is ideal for damp or humid environments. With delivery available across New Zealand, it’s a practical option for North Island builds too
