Straightcurve Garden Edging

The proliferation of house and garden shows, especially the DIY ones, is having an unforeseen detrimental effect on the psyche of the viewing public—namely, they’re making us think we’re more capable than reality proves. Across the globe, half-completed renovation and/or garden projects litter our neighbourhoods; proof of lofty dreams of ability brought low.

However, all is not lost. A recent product addition to the landscaping arsenal may just be what we need to restore our faith in ourselves. Straightcurve Garden Edging is a modular edging product that has been specifically engineered to flex and curve, allowing greater levels of design freedom, says Shane Parker.

“Traditional landscaping materials aren’t designed to curve naturally and will, over time, warp and twist in a bid to revert back to true. As such, it doesn’t take long for a good job to look average. Straightcurve is a unique product in that it has been specially designed to allow for natural-looking freeform bends and curves while still providing the strength and solidity required by many landscape projects.”

Flexline is designed to flex into shape rather than being bent into shape. It creates beautiful flowing curves.

You say patina, I say…

As well as the weathering steel option, Straightcurve is available with a galvanised steel finish. Both will weather and age with time but it’s the characteristic, rusty patina of weathering steel that many designers and homeowners are gravitating towards.

“Weathering steel is one of the most in-demand looks at the moment and this product has been made to tap into that demand by offering a simple yet effective means of securing a timeless appeal that will continue to look good for the life of the landscape theme.

“Similarly, the galvanised finish is a long-lasting product that will dull from a ‘glossy’ silver finish to a matt finish over time but will continue to look good for one-hundred-plus years,” Shane says.

Flexline is a child-friendly product that features a double rolled top edge and hidden fixings for safety.

Taking the effort out of garden edging

“The secret to Straightcurve’s appeal is its ease of installation,” Shane says. “It is a modular product that doesn’t require any pre-rolling or forming, which allows for myriad design options and total design flexibility onsite. And, because the connections are already in place, practically anyone can use it.

“Also, it is available in a range of products and sizes, which means you can create a cohesive design scheme that incorporates a number of elements including curved and straight edging, retaining walls and planter boxes.”

“For professionals, one of the biggest benefits of the Straightcurve system is the time-saving costs it affords, especially on larger commercial projects where timeliness is of paramount importance.”
