Highly insulated expanded polypropylene ducting. High levels of insulation and fully recyclable.
Expanded Polypropylene - The perfect material for ducts & fittings
For the last few years, the HVAC industry has been allowing expanded polypropylene (EPP) to enter more and more applications. It is light and don’t require additional insulation. With its superior thermal conductivity of around λ = 0.036-0,040 [W/m*k] it eliminates thermal bridges and with the supplied joiner it achieves air tightness, which is suitable for Passive House standard.
Additionally, and despite plastic’s bad reputation, EPP foam is sustainable, 100% recyclable and presents a low carbon footprint in its production.
Installation advice
The material can be easily cut with a standard Stanley knife and the parts can be assembled without any further tools. The connections are stiff and airtight, however, for sturdy installation we recommend to use adhesive sealant or duct-tape. Make sure all cuts and lengths fit well, before using sealant.
