JSC VertiClad® – Vertical Shiplap Timber Weatherboard Cladding System

A contemporary, refined vertical exterior finish, JSC VertiClad® creates clean vertical lines that add height, definition and architectural appeal to both residential and commercial buildings. Available in a wide range of profiles, timber species and finishes, VertiClad offers the flexibility to suit everything from modern architectural homes to timeless timber façades.

JSC proudly pioneered New Zealand's first fully tested vertical cavity system for Western Red Cedar. Today, JSC VertiClad provides a complete vertical timber weatherboard cladding system designed for performance, durability and design flexibility.

System comprises:

  • H3.2 treated structural or non-structural castellated cavity battens

Our JSC VertiClad System is available in a range of profiles, timber species, finishes, and coating options to suit a wide variety of aesthetics, features and landscapes.

JSC Vertical Shiplap Timber weatherboards comes in various width and depth options in a Bandsawn Face (BSF) and a Dressed Face (DF), where a BSF finish accentuates the natural texture of the timber and a DF finish provides a beautiful smooth finish. A brushed Finish is available for our JSC TMT range.

JSC has a range of timber species to choose from including our thermally modified timber range as well as coatings to match your project requirements.

Scope of use

JSC VertiClad Vertical Shiplap Weatherboard Cladding System installation is to be completed as per JSC VertiClad technical literature, within the scope of JSC VertiClad CodeMark Certificate CMNZ30084.


Where recessed aluminium windows or doors are specified, refer to the Aro® Recessed Flashing System technical documentation. The Aro® system is designed for use with both JSC VertiClad and RustiClad 18.5mm weatherboard systems together with JSC structural cavity battens.
