This contemporary bakery was designed to reflect the quality of the baking produced within it. The approach prioritizes material honesty and functional clarity, using natural timber and simple geometries to create a warm, light-filled environment.
The counter features faceted timber and brass panels inspired by the folding process of croissant making. These angular surfaces reference the lamination technique central to the craft while adding depth and visual interest to the space.
Natural light enters through a vaulted ceiling, illuminating the space throughout the day. This abundance of daylight was essential to creating an open, welcoming atmosphere while supporting the operational needs of a working bakery.
Display shelving combines timber frames with black metal racks, keeping the product visible and accessible while maintaining clean sightlines to the baking area beyond. The design puts the baking process on show—customers can watch production unfold, connecting finished product with the craft required to make it.
Material choices and detailing are deliberate but restrained, allowing the space to function efficiently while creating an environment appropriate to the quality of work happening within it.
