Soft sound absorbing display shelving
A new build house in Papakowhai with stunning views of Porirua harbour had a great location, but the open-plan living, dining and kitchen space suffered from poor acoustics and limited storage and display options.
Proffer used its FOLD Wall Shelving system to create a beautiful, flexible wall covering that not only provided space to display the client's collection of sculpture, pottery and books, but also cabinets to hide AV equipment and records.
The use of Autex's recycled PET Felt as the wall panel not only provides a lovely soft, warm finish but also an NRC of 0.7, effectively absorbing 70% of the noise that hits it. This goes a long way to help reduce noise reverberation in the space, meaning dinner parties and gatherings are more pleasant as conversation is clearer.
