Beltana Farm Restaurant

Beltana Farm is situated in a scenic regional area of the Nation’s Capital, conveniently near the airport. This project is part of a broader vision to establish a must-visit Canberra destination, highlighting local produce and unique culinary experiences. The result is Beltana Farm Restaurant, an evolving project that ultimately became a refined fine dining restaurant nestled within the picturesque truffle orchard in Pialligo.

This project underwent numerous transformations throughout its development. Initially, the concept was to create a versatile learning space for regional produce cooking classes, featuring multiple cooking stations. However, as community interest grew, the vision expanded into a multi-functional venue, designed to accommodate both training sessions and conferences.

The restaurant’s interior design thoughtfully integrates locally sourced materials, particularly Pialligo Sandstone, which serves as the focal point for a striking fireplace that extends beyond the interior. At one end of the space, a sophisticated marble bar was designed to anchor the joinery against the polished concrete flooring. Rich timber elements wrap around the steel framework, introducing warmth and contrast to the industrial surfaces. Meanwhile, flexible furniture selections ensure the space can easily transition between different functions, including training sessions, cocktail events, product launches, and full fine dining setups.

The back-of-house area was designed with practicality and adaptability in mind. The commercial kitchen layout needed to accommodate chefs, caterers, cooks, and waiting staff, maximize efficiency, and support various cooking techniques—all within a compact footprint. As construction progressed, interest from a renowned local chef, who became a key stakeholder, further refined the vision, transforming the project into a fine dining destination that proudly showcases the farm’s premium truffle produce.
