This beautiful new space has been completely transformed by Victoria Gaylard Design and Kitchen Link.
The brief from the owners - a busy family of 5 - was to open up what was previously 3 separate and dark spaces, into one large, light-filled kitchen, dining and living room. They love the final result saying they can now prepare food, dine, relax and entertain together.
The owners wanted a modern, functional kitchen that would enable a few people to work in it at the same time while providing space for others to sit and chat. This was achieved by including a long bench with workspace either side of the sink and the kitchen island providing another large work surface.
The features of the island include the stunning Silestone in Desert Silver wrapping the whole island, the solid oak floating top and for the wine lovers, the wine storage rack, expertly crafted in Melteca Planked Urban Oak by the team at Kitchen Link.
The Silestone continues on the sink and cooktop benchtop and wraps up the splashback incorporating a small shelf behind the cooktop - maintaining the sleek look the owners were after.
Adding to the practicality the kitchen includes plenty of storage, Blum hardware, Hideaway pull-out rubbish bins, a MAXX corner pullout unit to address those tricky corner cabinets and at the owners request, two single Tall Fisher & Paykel Dish Drawers - located either side of the sink, the owners say this is an absolute winner!
And with the corner seating (in Planked Urban Oak and lush peacock green upholstery) located in the perfect spot for sitting and chatting to the cook, this generous space provides everything you could need for a functional family kitchen.
