Gartshore needed a set of competition pictures for two very different projects in Auckland. With limited access to both sites, a world class apartment build in Remuera, and a refit for an active gelato shop in Ponsonby. I needed to get in and out of the sites as quickly as possible and really show off the magnificent work they’d achieved with minimal disruption to both teams.

It was a wet start to the day but the weather held together enough to get the work done for both sites. Shooting with available light and mix in some flash to balance out colours, produced the results I wanted. With a bit of sky replacement for the overcast conditions really helped bring out the elegance of both design features.

Gartshore were delighted with the results for their competition submission. The colours and craftsmanship of the work really came out well and put them in a good position for the competition.

About the
Professional

Welcome to the Chris Hillock Photographer Archipro site. I am a specialist in architecture, landscapes, commercial, corporate stills and video production. Deeply passionate about storytelling, I enjoy working with dedicated architects to capture their amazing stories and projects, connecting them with their audiences.

With 11 years as an NZDF photographer, travelling internationally, 6 years as a staff photographer for Fairfax Media (Qantas Junior Photographer of the Year 2011 - Best Single Pic), and now an established photographer and video producer for the last 8 years, based in the Waikato.

Often travelling both nationally and internationally for projects, I have a wide range of experience to bring to any project. I enjoy the rush of capturing the perfect shot or the interesting story, it keeps me coming back project after project and year after year.

My clients include Gartshore, Architecture Bureau, Arto, Diary NZ, Rabobank, MPI, Department of Conservation, Kiwiharvest, Master Builders Waikato, Wintec, University of Waikato, and many more.

Storytelling has been a driving force for me for many years now. The power of documentary films has been amazing, giving detail and depth to the vision brought to projects. There’s nothing as enjoyable as creating a film or a series of shots that express a message, or an emotion, enabling a connection between an audience and a project.

The key to any successful marketing campaign is connecting with your audience with a genuine, honest, and passionate story. People connect with people, and those connections help make great relationships. Using my years of visual journalism experience I am to create engaging images and stories that make an impact, helping you tell the story of your project and your business with stills and branding videos.

My team and I create visual materials in a variety of formats for NZIA Awards, Project showcases, Corporate Branding, Print marketing, and online marketing.

Our favourite projects explore the vision, process and ethos behind projects that have an impact, helping you connect with clients looking for a professional that understands them.
