The project involved the thoughtful renovation of an existing single-storey bungalow, into a more spacious two storey family home. This needed to be done in a way sympathetic to the original character and charm. To expand the living space the entire house was carefully lifted, creating space for an additional storey below. The architectural approach maintained the bungalow's heritage, seamlessly integrating elements from the original house. The exterior façade retained the familiar lines, roof pitch and materiality, ensuring a harmonious blend with the surrounding neighbourhood. The original interior panelling was carefully carried through the new entry and stairwell blending the old with the new.

“When my wife and I purchased our house we didn’t think to look any further than “Buildology Architectural” to design our Dream Home. Having worked with Allan and his team for close to 5 years in our building business, “Renovation Builders” with over 100+ Renovations completed, we learnt very early on that poor plans cost clients money. So when it came to our own home the choice was simple. From Concepts to full working Drawings, Council consents and actually executing the build, Buildology were present and did not lose site of the end vision to deliver us a home we loved. These guys are more than designers they are passionate about their industry. With every project I have worked on including my own home, I have seen a very personal and well thought out approach to design. We are now the very Proud owners of our Dream Home. New Zealand’s very first 10 Homestar Renovation. Thank you Buildology.”
