Curves like this don’t come off the shelf. Paradise Timbers crafted approximately 156 linear metres of custom laminated Victorian Ash handrail for Harbour Shores, following the sweeping upper-level balustrade with a precise 4,039.5 mm radius.
For Harbour Shores, Paradise Timbers crafted a custom 50 mm diameter Victorian Ash handrail designed to follow the sweeping architectural form of the upper-level balustrade.
Working to a 4,039.5 mm radius, the handrail required a carefully controlled lamination process to achieve the curve while maintaining the clean, continuous appearance of the timber. At approximately 156 linear metres, this was a substantial custom manufacturing exercise where accuracy, consistency and attention to detail were essential.
Victorian Ash was selected for its beautiful natural grain, warm tone and refined appearance, making it particularly suited to an interior where the handrail becomes part of the architecture.
The result is a continuous timber detail that follows the building’s curves beautifully and complements the vertical timber features throughout the space.
