New Indoor Training Facility
The Hawkes Bay Magpies Rugby Franchise now has its own home in Napier with a gym, meeting rooms, offices and an indoor skills training facility, for which TigerTurf Wett Pro was selected as the best of the best. An excellent match for the Magpies, WETT Pro is the most durable performance sports turf on the current international market.
TigerTurf WETT Pro Is Supremely Durable With Performance Qualities
The 50m long indoor skills training room will include sprints, ball skills, agility and sleds to develop strength and endurance. Luckily, TigerTurf WETT Pro was designed with both these qualities and many more to make it the best gym surface available. We installed a BSW 10mm rubber shock pad beneath the WETT Pro surface to absorb impact, sound and to enhance the performance and longevity of the WETT Pro sports surface.

TigerTurf installations comply with the New Zealand Building Code and Indoor Fire Regulations
The New Zealand Building Code and Indoor Fire Regulations require a dressing of sand to be spread on the WETT Pro sports system to comply with the rules governing the safe use of synthetic turfs indoors.

The surface has excellent traction to provide the sure footing that is essential for the intense, fast-moving training routine of the Magpies and is firm enough under-foot to support fast response without significantly increasing fatigue.
A neutral, grain-free surface, WETT Pro does not impede sled training or ball movement in any direction. And of course, being able to move naturally in any direction is essential for skills practice at this intense level.
TigerTurf shock pads improve the gym training experience, athletes’ health and turf performance
For the Hawkes Bay Magpies, it was necessary to install a shock pad beneath the WETT Pro surface to reduce the impact on joints and to mitigate injuries from falls during regular, strenuous sessions at the gym.

We’re one of the largest synthetic turf manufacturers in the world, but we started in Auckland, New Zealand in 1981. We still make almost all of our products in our Auckland factory, with materials manufactured by our parent company, TenCate Grass.
