Fire-safe granny flat extension in the Blue Mountains, blending rural aesthetics with contemporary design for a multi-functional guest wing.
Situated in a highly prone bush fire zone within the Blue Mountains region, the Highland Residence Granny Flat was designed to meet a fire safe construction. Capitilising on the site's Northern aspect & bush outlook, a new guest wing was added to the original home to offer a multi-functional secondary studio. The design concept follows a strong transition between the original rural aesthetic at the front facade of the home to a contemporary extension at the rear.
