Type & GFA - Residential 139m²
Year completed – 2015

An environmentally responsible 3-bedroom hideaway nestled deep in 30 acres of virgin, native Coromandel bush on a small, elevated ridgeline with an eastern valley aspect.

Developed to serve as a retreat to hang out in isolation and become one with nature it has expansive views as well as an intimate proximity to the bush. The warmth of the cedar lined interior draws you in & envelops you with its aesthetic and sculptural aspect.

As you access the opening in the bush you are greeted by the property and a giant recessed entry point. Once inside you are drawn to the picture frame windows that display the expansiveness of the view as well as an intimate proximity to the bush.

Everything is built around connections. A Studio fireplace provides heating to the living space and is a focal point between the lounge and dining/kitchen areas. Two decks flank the lounge; one of which is fully floating and directed to the site’s primary view down the valley, the other nestled into the bush.
