When the owners of this property decided to make it their forever home, the brief for the renovation was to create a timeless space. For the kitchen they wanted to keep the original country footprint, with the addition of a coffee bar dedicated area, making the room a functional and elegant convivial space.

The charm and character of the granite Verde Bahia chosen for the benchtop (a natural stone with a multifaceted black-brown tone with golden shades, dark and intense) and the look of the appliances the clients selected (black glossy surfaces with more golden details) drove the designer to use a simple Resene Black White, in a satin finish, for the lacquer doors/panels.

Black lacquer negative handle details and toe kicks work perfectly to connect all the elements adding a touch of drama in a contemporary, light filled happy space.

The cooking area features a flush-mounted hob, paired with an in-ceiling industrial grade rangehood, giving the big preparation area a seamless look.

There is a second kitchen area in the house, connected to the pool area.
The colours and materials in this space are completely different. Warm natural tones for the cabinetry, in Oak Veneer, and a light Engineered stone for the benchtop and splashback, conceived to blend with the downstair area facing the beautiful garden.

The handle negative detail shows also in the bathrooms, where all the vanities are made with the same concept and colour combination, earthy tones and light.
