Melton West students will enjoy hours of fun on their school oval, now a multi- sports field. They can challenge themselves to try a different sport every term if they are keen – rugby, AFL, soccer and cricket and most other sports on the magnificent green oval at the heart of the school. The TigerTurf Endurance Play multi-sports field even includes that all-time favourite – a TigerTurf Tournament running track in a warm brick red sweeping around the perimeter of the sports field.

TigerTurf Endurance Play was selected for the multi-sports field, being well suited for AFL, soccer, rugby, and cricket, along with general sports and recreational use for the school. TigerTurf Endurance Play was designed to be used in schools, as one of the most durable synthetic surfaces on the international market. TigerTurf manufactures Endurance Play from the Tencate XP Pro yarn designed for high use sports fields, allowing students to play in flat-soled shoes without voiding the unlimited play-durability warranty supplied by Tencate, the international market leader in turf yarns.

TigerTurf base construction engenders drainage and stability for durable performance.
TigerTurf was selected from the many contractors who tendered on this project, which was managed by an architect. We identified the existing problems in the site of the oval and presented tactics for resolving these to ensure long-term structural integrity and performance.
The construction team excavated the site, installing a comprehensive drainage system and crushed rock base for stability and strength to support the sports turf at peak performance over an extended lifetime.
With the TigerTurf Endurance Play surface laid, the multi-sport oval has become a superb teaching resource ready for action throughout the year.
