Beautiful family home with fantastic indoor-outdoor flow to a large outdoor entertainment area!
Our clients building journey began when their original house had suffered extensive earthquake damage and was earmarked for demolition. We became involved in this project when it was in the final stages of house design and focused on a landscape design which would really compliment the new house, along with meeting our clients brief.
We instantly knew the heart of the design was within the 'U' of the building and wanted it to be both functional and stunning. We opted to raise this central entertainment area to create fantastic indoor-outdoor flow, maximise the useable space (without steps), take advantage of the wind protection provided by the house, entertain groups of all sizes and create separation between this area and the path to the front door (while visitors could come directly into this area they are first encouraged to use the front door). Water features, seating walls and lush planting all add to this space becoming the heart of the property but the rest certainly wasn't forgotten about. Entrance planters, secondary courtyard, feature walls, spa area, concrete edged lawn and vegetable gardens all feature in this property, making it the beautiful (and practical!) space that it is.
This is definitely a design that is loved by all and fits our clients needs perfectly.
