Scott “Razor” Robertson knows the value of having a dedicated space to unwind and recharge somewhere removed from the demands of elite rugby coaching. To create this retreat, he partnered with Juralco and their network of Outdoor Living installers to design a bespoke outdoor room his family can enjoy throughout the year. Razor, who has experienced an exceptional playing career and has coached success with the Canterbury Crusaders and the All Blacks, understands the importance of maximising space both on and off the field. Working with local installer MAK Homes Ltd, they have brought his vision to life. The resulting outdoor room is an impressive combination of good looks and function. It features a Juralco Freestanding SunPivot® Louvre Roof, complemented by Solarzip® outdoor blinds and Glaslide® sliding glass doors. Finished in a contemporary Matt Black powder coat colour from the Dulux® range, the louvre roof integrates seamlessly with the structure. Discreet drainage concealed behind matching covers ensures a clean, refined aesthetic perfectly aligned with Razor’s brief. The custom-designed SunPivot® blades are engineered to fit the available dimensions of the space and calibrated for optimal sun control. The Solarzip® blinds offer additional protection from the elements, blocking up to 90% of harmful UV light. Glaslide® panels, running smoothly on heavy-duty rails, provide the flexibility to fully open or enclose the room, allowing the family to adapt the space to any weather or activity.
