The River Studio by interior designer Rebecca Jansma was conceived as a unique, rather than simply generic, experience. “Most people aren’t keen to embrace completely dark walls and ceilings in their own homes, but they are certainly open to explore beyond their safety zone when staying overnight, or for a few days,” says Rebecca.
Rebecca didn’t have to look far to find a suitable place to establish The River Studio. It is in Newtown, one of Geelong’s most loved and cherished heritage areas overlooking the Barwon River.
River Studio features Iver’s Osaka collection in brushed brass which stands out beautifully against the dark interiors and adds a touch of elegance. Understated and chic, the Osaka complements daring spaces and minimalist design through its simple shape and beauty.
The Osaka levers are a welcoming addition to the front doors, whilst the cabinet pulls complement the earthy timber tones of the joinery, adding a distinct style to the contemporary kitchen design.

The River Studio has been designed with Rebecca’s eye for detail and luxury from scratch to create a unique experience. French doors lead to a dark and moody space that comprises an open plan kitchen and living area, with a king size super luxe Sherman bed nestled in its own cozy alcove.
Dark moss-green Venetian plastered walls frame the stained Oak kitchen joinery. Calacatta Oro marble benches and brass fittings give the place a sense of luxury, but one that needs to be experienced rather than just looked at.
