This immaculately restored beachside residence nestled in Caves Beach, approximately thirty kilometres south of Newcastle, is a prime example of an ultimate transformation. The original peach-coloured render exterior, prominent chimney and gable ends underwent a significant redesign to turn the 1990’s manor-style home into a contemporary coastal retreat.

A key part of the home’s transformation was the garage, which has been entirely wrapped in DecoBatten 46x25mm timber-look aluminium battens.

Architect Jasmine Richardson from Ekah Studio commented that the large garage has been renovated to retain its existing functionality and size, with the batten detailing aimed to make it visually recessive to the main home.

The natural timber tones of DECOs sublimated DecoWood® finish allowed the home to connect and flow with the beach and bush surrounds, as well as being resilient enough to withstand the harsh sun exposure and salt spray prevalent in the coastal environment.

To bring synergy to the overall design, DecoBatten 50 x 50mm battens were used as a screening solution on the new ‘outdoor room’ located on the fronts econd story balcony and also incorporated into the pool and BBQ entertainment areas through further screening and fencing.

The Seacliff House recently earned the title of Renovation/Addition of the Year (over $1 million category) at the 2023 HIA-CSR Hunter Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards.
