A transformative redevelopment of the iconic Sirius building in Sydney, blending Bauhaus aesthetics with contemporary living, led by BVN Architecture, and completed in 2024.
Once a symbol of Sydney’s social housing movement, the Sirius building has undergone a transformative redevelopment that reimagines its iconic Brutalist form for contemporary living. Originally completed in 1980 by Tao Gofers, the structure was celebrated for its raw concrete geometry and deep social purpose. Its recent adaptive reuse, led by BVN Architecture, retains the original character while introducing refined interiors, upgraded sustainability measures, and enhanced public interfaces. The result is a striking example of heritage-led regeneration — where architectural legacy meets modern urban renewal.
