Situated on a prominent uphill site within the bustling Wairau Valley business precint, this new facility for Wallace Cotton exemplifies a blend of functionality and striking design. The building's robust street presence effectively elevates the bran's profile in competitive retail and distribution environment. Designed to accommodate a substantial homewares operation, this project thoughtfully integrates existing structures with new construction to optimise space and efficiency.
The development features a purpose-built retail, office and distribution space, retaining the existing warehouse slab and mezzanine, while adding new portal and precast slabs to enhance durability and versatility. The long-run coloursteel cladding with distinctive vertical slit glazing creates a modern aesthetic that complements the industrial character of the site, ensuring the facility is both visually appealing and highly functional.
Completed in 2021, this project exemplifies innovative design within the factories and warehouses category, reinforcing Wallace Cotton's presence and operational capacity in the region.
