The Westhead House is a coastal retreat designed to immerse its occupants in the surrounding landscape. Set back from the cliff edge the residence captures expansive 180degree views of the Tasman Sea while providing shelter from the site’s exposed conditions. Stained cedar cladding and robust glazing allow the building to blend with the rugged coastal environment, while generous glazing and openplan living spaces create a strong connection between indoors and outdoors. Designed as a calm refuge from city life, the house maximises sea views from every room and balances resilience with relaxed coastal living.
