Other types of membrane roofing

Self-adhered membranes like bitumen and SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) adhere directly to roofing substrates, so no additional system components are needed. Torch on membranes, mostly modified bitumens, are melted with flames so they can adhere directly to the roof surface. Torch on membranes create a waterproof, flexible, and durable surface, with seams fused together by the torch. However, torching does require skilled installers.
