This project included the demolition of the existing centre including asbestos removal.


Major temporary and permanent site works were required for this project due to its location on the banks of Lake Karapiro. Included in these works were; additional Geotechnical investigations, revised carpark and retaining wall designs, sediment silt pond, silt fences and dewatering of excavations.

The new performance centre consisted of:
A new boat shed
Gym
Meeting rooms
Changing room
Kitchen
Community area
A new pontoon

This building was clad in stained Rosenfeld Kidsen Rusticated Cedar weatherboards and 200 series masonry laid in stretcher bond pattern with a paint finish. All aluminium joinery was of the highest quality APL suites. This High Performance Centre has three Apricus thirty tube collectors with 660L of hot water storage powered by solar panels.

This build was published in the New Zealand Herald, on Stuff NZ and hit the TV screens on the news.
