Key design attributes:

• The brief from the client was for traditionally styled Australian terrace houses, aimed at the top end of the market.
• 37 houses in three groups surround a landscaped central courtyard, each with a different character exploring the regional variation in Australian terrace house seen in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide. Facing Auckland’s Domain Park, the Sydney Terraces step down George St adjacent to Auckland’s magnificent Domain Park, using a variety of roofs materials to give a sense of having been built over time.
• The Melbourne Terraces front the more formal Carlton Gore Rd facade with higher decorative parapets. The Brisbane terraces face the inner courtyard, and are more simple in form and materials, indicative of a more “laid back” Queensland style.
