Our customers have been very vocal in praise of the nice warm studio.

We run a paint-your-own-pottery studio. It’s a brilliant business in every way, except for one thing; The nature of the business means that our customers sit on one place painting for hours at a time, and in winter, the 18th-century building gets a little… chilly. Its lack of central heating, listed-building status and gigantic windows mean that keeping it warm has been no mean feat! But after two Decembers spent freezing to death, we decided enough was enough. We explored a few different routes, but nothing ticked the most important boxes: A) a system that requires neither gas supply nor insulation. B) A more sustainable, eco-efficient option. And that was when someone mentioned infrared heating panels… Our local electricians, G.E Brights Ltd, revealed that they were a registered supplier for Herschel Infrared, and that we may want to look at Herschel’s sophisticated new heating method. So we booked a visit and made the journey to their showroom! We were greeted by Sales Manager Jane, who couldn’t have offered better service. She really took into consideration everything about our quirky, leaky old building, and thought about which infrared heaters would best suit the space.

Never once did we feel that we were being offered a ‘one size fits all’ solution, and we went away happy that we were finally on the right track. Five months, some efficient service, a grant application and a bit of expert fitting from our local electricians and we had a studio fully-equipped with state-of-the-art, made-in-Britain, infrared heating panels! Only recently have we had to call them into use, and the difference is unbelievable. The stylish panels are ceiling-mounted; ideal for our flood-prone town. They are easy to control via an app, and can even be turned on remotely (making going to work on frosty days far more appealing!) They warm up quickly, and offer a ‘healthy’ feeling heat - not the headache-inducing zap of fan heaters. Our customers have been very vocal in praise of the nice warm studio (and surprised, in the case of those who have been in previous years) We are delighted that ‘The Saga of Trying to Heat Pitter Potter’ has ended happily and - in keeping with our ethos - a bit more sustainably than the mainstream options.
