Just Another Fishermans second store is located at 1 Kent street in New Market, Auckland.

This design of this store is a continuation of the moody aesthetic we have developed in previous stores whilst offering a different and refined custom experience that reflects the brands identity.

Working within the confines of a small 64m2 space the store is anchored around a linear multi height counter / display island. Custom designed expressed jointed timber hanging units are kept to the outer walls and access to storage and changing rooms are discreetly integrated into built elements.

The materials and colours were selected to both complemented each other and evoked feelings of a marine environment.

Notable materials used were corten steel (rusty steel) seen on signage, display shelving and cladding the counter. All corten steel parts were fabricated in advance and left outside to form its rusty patina and then sealed for protection and interior use. Marine grade ply and cedar battens line the ceilings. Solid oak, expressed jointed shelving with a back drop of black rough sawn timber, concrete plaster and painted walls all working together to help the product standout.

The Lennon Project was responsible for design and specifying of all interior finishes, loose and fixed joinery items and had design input on the shop frontage.

Once again we thoroughly enjoyed the design & build journey with the brand and look forward to working together again.
