Powerhouse Parramatta is a major new museum where community, industry and collections meet to create a dynamic, culturally engaged program. As the first NSW State Cultural Institution in Western Sydney, it will be a transformative cultural precinct for one of Australia’s fastest-growing, most diverse regions.
Walters Macri is proud to have photographed the transformative development of Powerhouse Parramatta, set to become the largest museum in NSW by 2026. This contemporary cultural precinct is designed at a civic scale, boasting over 18,000 sqm of inspiring exhibition and public spaces capable of welcoming up to 2 million visitors annually. The project exemplifies Australia’s commitment to showcasing how technology, design, engineering, and the applied arts continue to shape our built environment and cultural narrative.
The design and construction of Powerhouse Parramatta aim to position Western Sydney as a hub of innovation and cultural vitality. As a landmark institution, it will serve as a vital archive of Australia’s creative and technical journey, building on the Powerhouse Museum's renowned collection of over half a million objects.
