Set high above Wellington in Roseneath, this architectural new build makes full use of an exceptional hillside site. Designed by Parsonson Architects and delivered by Scotty's Construction, the home replaced an existing property and now commands panoramic views across the CBD, harbour and surrounding ranges, its elevated position capturing all-day sun. Building on Wellington's hillsides brings its own construction challenges, and the finished home was recognised with a Gold Award for Best New Home at the 2021 Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards.

Building on Wellington's hillsides brings its own construction challenges - access, exposure, topography and the relationship between building and site all had to be carefully managed throughout the project. Scotty's Construction worked closely with Parsonson Architects to carry the design intent through construction, resulting in a warm, sophisticated home that feels removed from the city below while remaining connected to its landscape.

The finished home was recognised with a Gold Award for Best New Home at the 2021 Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards, in recognition of the careful project management, technical capability and high-quality workmanship behind its delivery.

Many of our strongest projects begin with early builder involvement, allowing us to contribute practical construction knowledge around buildability, materials, detailing, programme and budget while the design is still taking shape. Once construction begins, our Construction Manager, Site Foreman and wider team oversee each project through a clear programme of works, regular communication and close collaboration with the wider design team. Our approach is grounded in precision, problem-solving and respect for the architectural intent. The aim is not simply to construct what has been drawn, but to understand the design, resolve the details properly and deliver a finished home that reflects the quality of the original vision.
