Shorefront is a prestigious low-density residential development located on a rare sea-facing site in the UNESCO World Heritage city of George Town, Penang. Designed by RT+Q Architects in collaboration with S.M. OOI Architect, the project consists of three slender five-story blocks arranged perpendicular to the shoreline. This "counter-intuitive" master planning ensures that every single unit enjoys an oblique view of the sea while facilitating natural cross-ventilation.

To ensure exclusivity and privacy within a compact urban plot, the units are laid out in an "alternating-facing" manner, meaning no two adjacent units share a common frontage. The architecture is characterized by its sophisticated use of timber screens and neutral water courts that connect the tranquil landscape to the Andaman Sea. Shorefront has been widely recognized for its design excellence, receiving an Honourable Mention at the 18th SIA Architectural Design Awards 2019 and being shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival and INDE.Awards.
