The new Administration Building seen from the number-one rugby ground are framed by a row of existing pohutakawa trees.
The triple-gabled brick roof form on the new Administration Building refers to the gables on the existing heritage buildings.
The new Administration Building helps to deifine the new student quad space.
Brass sun-shade screens protect against glare and minimise solar gain wthin the interior. The use of brass is a nod to the traditional fixtures seen in the old school.
The double-height angled entry into the new administration/arrivals building utilises brick as a material reference to the old school.
The entry bricks are laid in different configurations.
