This patented smart door technology offers the convenience to seamlessly manage a door entry without carrying keys.

As a global supplier of intelligent locks and security solutions – its products accounting for more than one in ten of all locks and security installations worldwide – ASSA ABLOY’s strength lies in its variety of traditional and new products that can be combined to create a large number of different door environments.

Its latest evolution is its patented Yale DualDoor Technology.

“We're thrilled to announce a game-changing development at ASSA ABLOY Australia – the expansion of our unique and patented DualDoor feature as a direct response to our customers' feedback, we've made this significant enhancement,” says Ben Tang, ASSA ABBOY’s product manager for Yale Smart Locks.

“Our locks are now even more connected and smarter than ever. Users can effortlessly operate both the Yale Unity Security Screen Door Lock with any Yale Smart Locks in Australia with a single command (Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge required). When your security screen door unlocks, so will your entrance lock. There’s now no need to search for two keys to open two different locks.”

Previously only compatible with Yale’s Unity Security Screen Door Lock and Unity Entrance Door Lock, this update will allow the Unity Security Screen Door Lock DualDoor functionality to work with all Yale Smart Locks.

“This really opens the opportunities for customers to have more freedom to select the best possible entrance solution. For new installations and retrofits, you have the freedom to choose any Yale Smart Lock for your entrance door while enjoying the seamless entry experience of the DualDoor feature,” says Tang.

Available when the Yale Connect Plus Bridge is paired with both your Yale Unity Screen Door Lock and Yale Smart Entrance Lock, the DualDoor Technology creates the ability to seamlessly unlock and lock both products in an automatic sequence.

The installation process is straightforward, with no additional hardware needed aside from the Yale Unity Screen Door Lock and your choice of Yale Smart Entrance Lock onto your front door.

“Additionally, just plug the Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge into the power points, download the Yale Home App from the App Store or GooglePlay, then you are ready to go. All pairing processes are app-guided with our local technical support in case the customer requires any extra assistance during setup.”

Now compatible with all Yale Smart Locks, the Dual Door functionality provides the opportunity for customers to have more freedom and choices to select the best possible entrance solution.

Recommendation for manual snib locking: If you typically manually snib lock your Yale Security Screen Door along with the Yale Assure Deadbolt/Yale YDM series, it is advisable to only enable the 'Unlock together' feature and turn off the 'Lock together' feature. When closing the screen door and manually snibbing to lock, be aware that the deadbolt from Yale Assure and YDM series will engage briefly, preventing you from closing your entrance door.

For users relying on ‘auto lock’ on the primary lock: If you rely on the ‘auto lock’ feature on the primary lock and do not manually snib lock the screen door, it is safe to keep both ‘unlock/lock together’ options enabled. This allows you enough time to close both doors behind you, ensuring that when the screen door lock engages, the secondary lock does so.

Optimal placement of the Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge: For the best performance, place your Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge as close as possible to your door, considering that Bluetooth signals strengthen with proximity. The Wi-Fi network speed and distance between your Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge and both locks will affect the response time of the secondary lock.

Check clearance before installation: Since every installation is different, it is recommended to check the relative lever position between your screen door lock and entrance solution to ensure you have enough clearance before proceeding with the installation.
