From architecturally designed exercise equipment to personalised workout programmes, Technogym has everything you need to begin your wellness journey at home.
If you’re considering signing up for a gym membership in the new year, you’re not alone. The resolution to invest more time in physical health is so common it has become a cliché — as has the eventual cancellation of said membership after a few months. Whether it’s a lack of time, inconvenience, or dwindling motivation, roughly 90% of people quit the gym after three months.
For those who want to set fitness goals, but know they likely fall in the 90% camp, Technogym offers a solution. Rather than signing up for a membership at the local gym, Technogym has everything you need to set up your very own professional spec gym at home. From the basics to complete circuits, Technogym’s globally renowned fitness equipment will have you working out in style without having to leave the house.
“We constantly strive to create gym equipment and accessories that are not only professional and sleek, but adapt easily to your space,” says Technogym’s Senior Marketing Manager Olivia Sheppard. “Our years of experience have allowed us to develop fitness products that are exceptional in both function and aesthetics.”
Technogym’s philosophy is centred around home wellness, combining design, attention to detail, and elegant products to add value to interiors and help you develop spaces that promote physical and mental balance.
“Having a home gym offers convenience, privacy, and the flexibility to exercise whenever desired, providing a convenient solution for staying fit and active,” Sheppard says.
The Run Personal treadmill, designed by Antonio Citterio, combines cutting edge technology with beautiful lines.
Choosing the best equipment for your home gym
There’s no one-size-fits-all solution for home gyms, as each set-up depends on the homeowners’ needs, gym space, and training style. Technogym recommends choosing equipment that covers the fundamentals of cardio and a full-body strength workout.
“For smaller spaces, I’d suggest a Technogym Run or Technogym Ride paired with a Technogym Bench to cover a full body workout. For bigger spaces, the Unica plus a couple of cardio pieces would suit,” Sheppard says.
“If you’re after a chic, top tier, architecturally designed and award-winning home gym solution, the Personal Line — designed by Italian architect Antonio Citterio — offers a selection of world class pieces including Run Personal, Bike Personal, Cross Personal and the Kinesis Personal.”
To protect your floors from damage, Technogym also provides mats to go under all cardio equipment and recommends that you purchase rubber matting for the weights areas, too.
The Bike Personal, designed by Antonio Citterio, has a compact footprint making it ideal for any gym space.
Planning your home gym layout
Available on their website, Technogym’s Room Planner software is designed to help you visualise your equipment layout and ensure the space is workable, with room for stretching and body weight exercises.
Starting with room size, you can either select a shape from the listed options or upload a 2D-floor plan. Once you have your floor plan, you can add your chosen equipment from the Technogym range and lay it out in the room, playing around with configurations until you find one that works best. The software offers both 2D and 3D views, and a range of architectural features such as doors, walls, and windows, so you can create the most accurate representation of your space. Once you have decided on a layout, submit a request form to the Technogym team with a list of all your chosen equipment, or book a consultation to discuss your options further.
If you’re looking for inspiration, Technogym also has a range of luxury home gym concepts free to browse on their website. If you like the look of a concept, you can contact a specialist, or head to the room planner and design your own version.
Alternatively, if you prefer to trust their in-house specialists with the design of your home gym, Technogym can supply a personalised CAD layout to help you visualise the space.
The Kinesis Heritage is a complete functional gym station, with hundreds of exercises to challenge your strength, coordination, flexibility, and balance.
