Whether sleek and modern or timelessly traditional, the right choice of materials can make all the difference. Specialized Construction Products’ exterior plaster systems offer a perfect blend of durability and architectural appeal, setting a new benchmark for both style and performance.
Designed for New Zealand Homes
Specialized Construction Products has developed some of the most advanced exterior plaster cladding systems in New Zealand, including the country’s first BRANZ-appraised lightweight aerated concrete panel system. Designed, tested and manufactured specifically for local conditions, these systems offer homeowners peace of mind with their longevity and performance, no matter the climate.
“Our exterior walls are one of the most defining elements of a home,” says Warren Jennings, National Sales & Technical Manager of Specialized Construction Products. “That’s why we’ve dedicated our expertise to providing the most rigorously tested and aesthetically appealing plaster cladding systems on the market.”
The Versatility of Plaster Cladding
Few materials offer the same level of design flexibility as plaster cladding. This material allows for an extensive range of finishes, from ultra-smooth to highly textured, in virtually any colour. Features such as mid-floor bands, sill bands and negative detailing can be easily incorporated to enhance architectural expression. “No other cladding material provides this level of customisation,” tells Warren. “You can achieve the look of concrete without the cost of full concrete construction by using Specialized EZpanel with Dulux Acratex Acrashield Concrete finish.”

A Material of Choice for High-End Homes
Exterior plaster cladding has long been associated with premium home design. Its seamless appearance and ability to mimic natural materials make it a preferred choice for architects and designers working on high-end projects. Today’s design trends lean towards natural finishes, such as textured concrete effects, which Specialized’s systems achieve with remarkable realism.
Built to Withstand New Zealand’s Harsh Conditions
Durability is just as important as aesthetics. Specialized plaster cladding systems, such as the EZpanel 50mm AAC, feature a cutting-edge PVC flashing system that has been rigorously tested by BRANZ. “This system is designed to withstand New Zealand’s toughest weather conditions,” Warren explains. Additionally, all Specialized plaster systems incorporate Dulux Acratex elastomeric topcoats, which provide superior protection against moisture and environmental contaminants, extending the system’s lifespan.
Customising Texture and Finish
From the refined look of smooth acrylic finishes to the rustic charm of heavy-textured Spanish or adobe-inspired surfaces, plaster cladding allows homeowners and designers to create a truly unique facade. With an almost limitless colour palette and a variety of texture options, it can seamlessly complement both contemporary and traditional architecture.
Elevating Architectural Potential
Plaster cladding is more than just a protective shell—it’s a statement of style, innovation, and longevity. With Specialized Construction Products leading the way in advanced cladding solutions, New Zealand homeowners can enjoy a perfect balance of form and function, ensuring their homes stand the test of time while looking effortlessly elegant.
