Thermosash DeltaGuard™
DeltaGuard™ is a security window system developed by Thermosash for low to medium security human and physical structural impact project requirements. A specifically engineered frame and combined glass suite offering correctional facilities, youth detention, acute and forensic mental health facilities and data centre projects the peace of mind on entry or exit restriction and ballistic or blast control – protecting those that are in the building, behind our security façade systems.
The DeltaGuard™ suite has undergone continual development over the last 25 years - originally developed for youth detention facilities it has been further utilised in New Zealand Government buildings, consulates, biocontainment facilities, correctional facilities and forensic and acute mental health facilities – designed to protect the users within the building, as much as the public, by having no accessible parts that can be used for weapons and self-harm, and by our blast systems that can absorb and mitigate the potential for shrapnel damage internally.
The Suite has multiple options that can include;
- Impact resistant frame and glazing unit - fixed
- Integrated / isolated automated venetian blind for anti-ligature mitigation or microbial cleaning separation.
Engineering - DeltaGuard™ can accommodate different IGU sizes. Although not thermally broken, the system can reach high thermal performances if coupled with an external secondary thermally broken system adopting an IGU. Each system is custom engineered for the intended use, span, and building construction.
Low-carbon aluminium window system - Thermosash partners with a local NZ-owned extruder achieving a lower carbon footprint than the global average - offering reduced upfront carbon emissions. Our aluminium is 100% recyclable and all aluminium from refurbished sites and from our manufacturing process is environmentally managed back to our key suppliers and processed back into raw billet form.

Our Expertise
Thermosash’s abilities have grown since its 1973 start-up when Laurie Hayes and his colleagues manufactured commercial windows out of a small production facility. It quickly became apparent that the products and skills of the workforce were creating a performing quality, flexible product that the market sought.
Over time, our teams of dedicated and committed people have grown, this has been possible through constant reassessment of internal and external processes and manufacturing methods from around the world. We’ve also provided ongoing reinvestment in the training of our people to ensure lean process, IT Systems, material handling machinery and transport logistics equipment, as well as design office and factory production process improvements. We are able to offer a world class company with manufacturing facilities in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
