Stacey Farrell is an architect who lives and works in Queenstown, New Zealand. 

Before starting her own practice, Stacey spent her architectural career working for both small and large firms throughout New Zealand gaining a broad range of experience and skills.

Architectural works completed over Stacey's career to date include education projects, commercial, interiors, and residential projects of varying sizes and scales. Her most recent projects include new and alteration residential works, new kitchen designs, and commercial retail fit-outs.

Stacey graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Auckland University in 1995. She has been a Registered Architect since 1998. Stacey is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Architects, New Zealand Registered Architects Board and the New Zealand Architects Co-operative Society.

Awards include: 

  • Black House part one was awarded a NZIA Southern Architecture Award, finalist in NZ Living Channel House of the Year. 
  • Speargrass Flat Road (residence) project was Finalist in Cavalier Bremworth AAA UnBuilt Architecture Awards 2012.
  • Stacey has all been a NZIA Local Awards Juror and Jury Convenor. 
  • The Coast House was highly commended Green Home of the Year, Home Magazine 2021. 


  • The Black house part one was featured in 2 books: Big House Small House: New Homes by New Zealand Architects by John Walsh and Patrick Reynolds, and Small House Living: Inspiring New Zealand Houses Less Than 90m2 by Catherine Foster.
  • Stacey's work has featured in many magazines, such as Urbis- issue 65 'best of the best' 2011, NZ House and Garden- January 2011, Architecture NZ, The Australian Women's Weekly October 2015 page 150, New Zealand Herald newspaper- weekend Canvas magazine, ProDesign, Remix, Alfresco, Interior Detail(s), New Zealand on Holiday, cover of NEW ZEALAND retail-business magazine.


  • Black House part one featured on Extreme Homes HGTV USA episode 303, and as a finalist in NZ Living Channel House of the Year.
