FLiP Camperdown is a 3-home development on a ~500sqm site, previously occupied by a single dwelling and a leaky, written off garage. By removing (and rehoming) the existing structure, through open dialogue with our client FLiP (designed by First Light) was able to maximise utilisation of the site by delivering one 90sqm three-bedroom and two 42sqm one-bedroomhomes, each on their own title. The transformation of the site increases density, and the one-bedroom units provide a sought-after model of housing in the heart of the film production hub on the eastern edge of Wellington city.
Each home has off-street parking and generous private, and sunny outdoor living areas which connect seamlessly to the indoor living environment. There is space for entertaining, drying washing, a car, small productive gardens, bins, and water collection.
Smaller, smarter, more energy-efficient dwellings mean lower energy and resource use during construction, low-maintenance requirements over the life of the buildings and lower ongoing running costs for the owner/occupier.
Designed for prefabrication but built on site, FLiP Camperdown employs a design methodology that promotes speed of construction and minimal impact on site.
The development was delivered from the ground up by FLiP Homes, who managed the process - including subdivision and all external consultants - from the project's initial vision to its completion.
