"House of Screen and Light" is a masterful exploration of tropical modernism, where the boundaries between the sanctuary of the home and the surrounding landscape are artfully blurred. Designed by RT+Q Architects, the residence is defined by its sophisticated use of timber screens that wrap the facade, acting as a veil that filters the intense equatorial sun into a poetic dance of shadows.

The architectural heart of the house is a dramatic double-height living space, where the rhythmic verticality of the screens creates a serene, gallery-like atmosphere. Large glass apertures and reflecting koi ponds facilitate natural cross-ventilation and visual cooling, anchoring the home in its lush, botanical setting. This project exemplifies RT+Q’s ability to blend disciplined geometric forms with tactile materiality, resulting in a private retreat that is both monolithic in presence and ethereal in its interior experience.
