Fitout for Otolaryngology Specialists, including consulting, treatment rooms, Clinical staff work areas, staff rooms & administration offices

The fitout occupies the majority of the top floor of the building and therefore has great views in all directions. The 6 x typical consultant ‘pods’ are distributed along the eastern and western elevations and open out onto a generous shared waiting room running full length from north to south. Each Consultant pod operates as a separate practice and therefore consist of a Reception, an Exam/procedure room, and Consultants office. Special attention has been paid to each reception which are fronted with full height timber framed sliding doors. The intent being to provide a more welcoming and open reception to that provided by the typical ‘shutter’. The frosted glass doors are slid closed when the specialist is not operating a clinic.

A suite for Audiology occupies a 7th pod, consisting of its own reception and 2 x hearing test rooms, designed to strict acoustic requirements.

The combined waiting area is defined by a lowered timber ceiling and end walls, which provides a sense of comfort and warmth to the space. The Staff room and breakout space delivers a social zone where the separate practices can come together and socialise.
