MicroSilica

Micro Silica Concrete is a high performance, very dense, strong concrete made with naturally occurring amorphous silica. It performs well in aggressive environments, for example marine environments as it provides high early strengths and durability. Micro Silica Concrete contains naturally occurring silica, 100x finer than cement, that fills the water spaces between the cement particles reducing the bleed and increasing permeability. Micro Silica Concrete is formed when silica reacts with part of the calcium hydroxide and provides a strong chemically resistant paste. The hydrophilic nature of silica and the large surface area makes the concrete thixotropic and conhesive, the ideal state for a highly workable concrete to reduce segregation.
