Set amongst existing native vegetation on the upper slopes of Mt Iron, this four-bedroom family home enjoys impressive panoramic views of the Southern Alps. The design comprises of two mono-pitch gable forms angled west to bring light deep into the spaces and capture the last of the evening sun. Externally clad in dark stained cedar with black window joinery, the simple geometries of the elevations reflect the client's desire for an understated modern design. Internally the material palette is simple and refined; floors are oak, walls are generally white with cedar & blackened steel features.
Set within the native vegetation high on Mt Iron this stunning home is a play on angles and light, with a design that maximises the impact of the expansive mountain views. Clever spaces and interesting materials and finishes have created a home that doubles as an entertainers paradise and a functional family dwelling which embraces the owner's lifestyle.
