Mt Pleasant

On the lower slopes of Mt Pleasant, you’ll find this beautiful architectural home, designed and built with innovative architecture and outstanding construction. At the helm was Simplexity, known for their ability to take a complex process and make it simple and enjoyable! The home is clad in black aluminium and western red cedar, giving the house an incredible presence from any angle. Inside there is American white oak timber flooring. Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout connect this exceptional space with its coastal surrounds, with stunning views sweeping over the estuary out to the ocean and right up to the Kaikōura ranges. The home’s cabinetry and kitchen were designed and crafted from the homeowners’ previous rimu dwelling benchtop, giving the house a sense of history, despite its modern build. The daybed in the living area and the hide-away TV feature are examples of the outstanding finishes of the home and demonstrate the flexibility of the Simplexity team. No task is too much of an undertaking for them. All the bedrooms have quality in-built furniture, and a laundry shoot dramatically improves the functionality of the home. The bathrooms are tiled with Mongolian stone and oak cabinetry, and quality tapware is present throughout. There’s even a fully-lined loft area and a mixed-use space serving as a fourth bedroom or office space. As the name suggests, Simplexity simplify complex projects to build outstanding bespoke and architecturally designed homes like this that exceed their clients’ expectations – every time. And because they’re a family-run business, they limit the number of projects they take on each year. This means clients get the best possible care and service, every step of the way.
