By Wingates
Our client had a requirement for three co-working studios. One in Parnell Auckland, one in Tauranga CBD and another in Hamilton CBD. The studios would provide for creative professionals from start-ups to established businesses wanting to take advantage of shared spaces and the value of thoughtful engagement. The client wanted to engage in a process of great design working through the pragmatics of working in a co-working studio.
We worked with the client in the procurement of offices that would offer natural light, strong entries and simple spaces. In Auckland, an old concrete portal north facing factory converted into an office. In Tauranga, the back of a disused warehouse open to an unnamed lane (subsequently) behind an old roller door. The idea was to use soft furniture as a solution to optimise flexibility. The entry spaces are designed to be a common area, neutral in branding other than a reference to WORKCO. As you pass through individual spaces, varying brand identities become apparent and identified.
