When Red Room secured its new hot Pilates studio, the vision was clear: a warm, energising space where clients could settle into their practice and feel fully immersed in the experience.

The existing room, however, presented an acoustic challenge. Hard plasterboard walls, painted concrete block, timber laminate flooring and a large run of windows meant sound travelled quickly and bounced throughout the space. With up to 15 clients per session, instructors using microphones and music playing throughout each class, clarity and comfort were essential.

Acoustic Solutions Store completed an acoustic appraisal to understand how the room needed to perform, specifying 25mm Autex Quietspace panels in Nude White. Just six ceiling-mounted panels were installed, providing a discreet solution that also suited the demands of a heated Pilates environment.

The difference was immediate. Instructor cues became clearer, music felt fuller and the room took on a calmer, more focused quality. Rather than changing the look and feel of the studio, the acoustic treatment supported it, helping create an environment that feels vibrant, grounded and easy to move through.

It is a strong reminder that acoustic design is not only about reducing noise. In wellness, fitness and hospitality spaces especially, it can shape the entire experience of a room.
