LIV+ by Living Design is opening the doors to its first Auckland showroom, introducing a new space for architects, interior designers, joiners and homeowners to engage directly with European-made interior materials and products. Located within the Residium Design + Building Centre in Parnell, the showroom has been conceived as a place for considered specification, comparison and informed decision-making.

The space brings together a curated selection of surfaces, basins and tapware, allowing visitors to experience materials at full scale and understand finish, tactility and quality up close. Products are presented clearly and simply, supporting informed conversations around selection and specification for residential and commercial projects. The LIV+ showroom is intended as an ongoing resource, supporting confident decision-making throughout the design process rather than one-off selection visits.

To mark the opening, LIV+ will host a trade launch event on Thursday, 26 February, from 1pm to 5pm, welcoming architects, designers, builders and industry partners into the space. The afternoon is designed as an open, informal opportunity to explore the showroom, engage with the materials and meet the team behind LIV+. It is a straightforward celebration of the opening, with the focus firmly on industry connection and shared knowledge.

At the centre of the showroom’s ethos is Living Design co-founder Klaus, who will be present at the launch event. Klaus is a Schreinermeister. There is no direct translation for Schreinermeister in English, although it loosely conveys as “Master Joiner”, a comparison that has been described as akin to calling Beethoven a busker.

For specifiers, engaging with Klaus offers insight not just into products, but into how materials are conceived, engineered and refined, and why they perform the way they do in practice. That depth of understanding informs the LIV+ approach, grounding the showroom in material knowledge and long-term performance.

With the opening of LIV+, Living Design is extending its long-standing joinery expertise into a shared environment for the wider design community.

Industry professionals are invited to attend the launch event on Thursday, 26 February, and are encouraged to register to visit the showroom and connect with the LIV+ team as part of their specification process.
