Kährs Luxury Tiles are good enough to compete with the real thing.

When you’re wanting a high-end flooring product for your project, few products deliver as well as real timber flooring. The beauty and warmth of a timber floor is rarely surpassed.

That’s why Erin and Jon Denny, Directors of The Wooden Floor Company, specify products from some of the world’s leading timber flooring suppliers.

“The Wooden Floor Company has been enriching homes, shops, offices and various other indoor venues through the beauty of timber flooring for more than 30 years,” says Erin. “In that time we’ve looked at other possible flooring options but have never found a product that we felt was a good enough alternative to the real thing.”

That was until now.

“Kährs is a world leader in timber flooring products and has more than 160 years’ experience in the industry—having, in that time, introduced a number of innovations to the market. We have been stocking their products since we began, so when they announced they were releasing a vinyl product we were intrigued by the potential.”

Vinyl flooring with the look and feel of timber or stone

Jon says they weren’t disappointed. “Generally, we’ve had no real inclination to diversify from our timber offering but when we saw the new Luxury Tiles range we were blown away by the quality of craftsmanship and the attention to detail.

“The new range features a variety of timber- and stone-look tiles available as extra-long plank options in timber (eight styles) and large-format options in stone (six styles), to create a singular look in any home or commercial premises.”

The timber-look offering has been based on Kährs’ current timber flooring range and so can be matched to their existing products, says Erin.

“The beauty of this product is that it is suitable for wet-area applications and so by teaming it with the comparable timber selections, you can create a cohesive look throughout your home. Ongoing maintenance is a breeze thanks to the hard-wearing ceramic top layer, which features registered embossing for that real-wood aesthetic and feel under foot.”

Environmental sustainability: products with a green core

In keeping with the company’s environmental stance, the Kährs Luxury Tiles collection is manufactured using only material that is free from phthalates. This means the collection has very low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC), contributing to healthier, cleaner indoor air quality. A PVC-free range is also available.

Kährs was the first wood flooring producer in the world to be awarded ISO 9001 certification and is also ISO 14001 certified. In 1999. Kährs pioneered Woodloc®, an innovative process that enables its flooring to be locked together mechanically and laid entirely without the use of adhesives. An added bonus of this feature is that, should an individual tile be damaged it can be easily swapped out without having to replace the entire floor.L

Additionally, the five-layer technology, including an SPC substrate core, gives the Luxury Tiles collection added durability. The IXPE sound-reducing backing layer is rated to 20db, ensuring sound transmission is mitigated, further enhancing the interior environment.

Kährs Luxury Tiles: launching 2020

“We had hoped to be able to offer the Luxury Tiles range to our customers from earlier this year,” says Jon. “Unfortunately, COVID-19 has made it impossible to get stock. However, we will have samples available from October and will be launching the range later in 2020.

“The Wooden Floor Company will be the exclusive distributor of the Luxury Tiles range and further information can be found on our website.”
