Few products need to combine form and function like our carpets. As consumers we’re looking for aesthetics and performance in equal measure and we expect both.
All of us have moments in our lives that test our courage. Taking children into a house with a white carpet is one of them (quote from Erma Bombeck). Thankfully, manufacturing has come a long way with Stain Proof Solution Dyed Nylon carpets available that are manufactured from materials that can be cleaned with bleach and acetone (yes, seriously!).
Designed to our conditions: stain- and fade-proof carpets
Our need for hard-wearing and durable carpets is more apparent than ever, which Belgotex’s Jacques Venter says is ably met in today’s solution-dyed nylon carpets.
“One of the inherent features of modern nylon carpets is their ability to be specifically manufactured to a range of climatic conditions, including New Zealand’s harsh UV environment.
“Nylon is considered one of the most durable types of carpet material, reigning supreme when tested against wear and tear. That’s why 90 per cent of the carpet purchased in New Zealand is solution dyed nylon. Belgotex stain proof, solution dyed nylon carpets take nylon a step further with their highly stain and fade proof qualities.”
Bravo, Delta and Tango carpets from Belgotex come in overlapping colours, allowing you to use the same colour in different weights for different rooms.
Wellness and sustainability: looking after you and the environment
Environmental responsibility is a big issue for many consumers, who expect their products to be sustainably manufactured or sourced.
“Our Stain proof solution dyed nylon carpets are Global GreenTag certified and pass the world's toughest standards to protect our users and their family's health and safety, as well as minimising the impact on our finite resources,” says Jacques.
“Furthermore, the water that is used during the manufacture of our carpets is recycled and our factory runs on energy harnessed by 12,000m2 of solar panels.”
The quality of our indoor environments has been proven to be directly linked to our health and wellness and in certain cases the levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can be up to five times higher in our homes compared with outdoors.
“Many everyday products in our homes—including carpets—release VOCs through a process known as off-gassing. When choosing products to include in your home always look for a low-VOC rating.”
Stainproof Solution Dyed Nylon carpets are stain proof and fade proof with colours chosen to compliment current interior designs and colour schemes.
Last a lifetime: ensuring your carpet outlives its warranty
We all know that taking proper care of our belongings will ensure they continue to look good and function as intended for the optimum amount of time and our carpets are no different.
“Not all carpets are made the same, so it is critical that you follow the specific maintenance guidelines provided with your carpet,” says Jacques. “That said, the more regularly you carry out basic maintenance tasks—vacuuming and cleaning—the more likely you are to extend the life of your carpet.
“With vacuuming, we recommend homeowners use vacuum cleaner that has NO beater brush as this can damage the carpet pile. Also, try to use a vacuum that offers high suction as this will get deep into the pile where fine particles tend to settle and ensure that any spills and stains are dealt with immediately.
“Follow these basic rules and your Belgotex carpet will certainly outlast its warranty.”
